Tanlines ‘Brothers’, the new single from their upcoming album due March 20 brings world-beat to the synth soaked shores of the dance floor. It’s everything we’ve come to love about these guys, with their Caribbean percussion, dazed electro-pop, and wish-washy ambience - but is bigger, more full-bodied and upbeat than ever before.

We’ve been absent a lot over the last week. Work. Travel. Life. But we’re excited to make our return to tumblr with a post for one of our favorites - Brad Oberhofer. We’ve loved his home-grown schizophrenic songs since ‘oo0ooo0oo’. His new single ‘Heart’, brings with it a new level of maturity - transforming his scrappy sound into a sweeping piece of chamber pop. It’s the first track from his upcoming debut LP ‘Time Capsules II’ out on Glassnote March 27.

Porcelain Raft suits up and hires two copycats to star in the video for Unless You Speak From Your Heart, taken from his wistful, soothing debut full-length Strange Weekend.

Suburban Living - Give Up

It’s not often that I blog a song and then subsequently the video for the same song, but you guys really seemed to love Wesley Bunch’s brand of new wave pop, and this Twin Peaks-inspired piece by director Abe Vilchez-Moran is totally worth the revisit.  And yes, I think I just blogged two creepy, murder-inspired videos in a row…

The single’s up on Bndcmp now.

Cloud Nothings - “No Future/No Past”

Yesterday Cloud Nothings released a video for their slow-burning intro track “No Future/No Past” of their new album Attack On Memory. The video was directed by John Ryan Manning and was debuted on Urban Outfitters website. The track marks a completely new sound for Cloud Nothings who have evolved own so much from simply being Dylan Baldi’s bedroom project. From bringing in Steve Albini to produce the album to writing the songs as a band and not just by himself, Baldi and co. have almost reinvented their sound to more of an early emo/90s noise rock band. Attack On Memory is in stores today so make sure you go out and pick up your copy today!!!

Oh Cloud Nothings, you guys have grown so much from “Hey Cool Kid”

video: Active Child - Hanging On

disconaivete:

Even though I’ve heard it countless times already, Active Child’s Hanging On still puts me on the top of my seat every single spin. Directed by Pier Pictures.

I just can’t keep hanging on
To you and me
I just don’t know what is wrong
With you and me

Touch me and then turn away
Put your hands into the flame
Tell me if you feel this pain
‘Cause I don’t want to be a ball and chain
